Circle Suppers
This month’s Circle Supper is February 3, and the movie is “Off and Running” (summary below)
Circle suppers are regular gatherings of All Souls members and friends who want to enjoy each other’s company while breaking bread together.
Join us on the first Friday of the month in the Small Hall for potluck and conversation. Many participants sign up in advance but we don’t stand on ceremony – everyone is invited! Adults should bring a dish to share. Kids are welcome and encouraged!
Dinner is held in the Small Hall at 6pm, a movie follows in the Great Hall at 7pm. The movies shown on Circle Supper nights are family friendly and chosen to reflect our UU interests (diversity, multiculturalism, faith exploration, sustainability, etc.)
For more information, please call the Church Office at 719-633-7717.
Film Summary: “Off and Running”
Avery is a high school student and an athlete. She grew up in a unique and loving household with white Jewish lesbians for parents and two adopted brothers — one mixed-raced and one Korean-Brooklyn teen. But when her curiosity about her African-American roots grows, she decides to contact her birth mother. This choice propels Avery into her own complicated exploration of race, identity and family that threatens to distance her from the parents she’s always known.
