es south of US Hwy 50 in Cañon City on Temple Canyon Rd/Fremont Co Rd 3.

 ively\, GPS/Map Coordinates for the Trailhead are:  38.4044457\, -105.27
10501  You can copy those coordinates &amp\; paste them directly into the
SEARCH box of either Google Maps or Apple Maps to find this location on a
map\, then click DIRECTIONS for driving route and turn-by-turn directions
. You may be able to do the same thing on your vehicle's onboard navigatio
 n. (See also Driving Directions below.)\nHIKE DESCRIPTION:  This is one
of our all-time favorite hikes. A secluded desert canyon with interest
ing rock formations\, including an optional slot canyon. Beautiful d
esert vegetation and views of surrounding areas. Mostly open and sunny.
 \nHIKE DISTANCE:  5 miles    \nELEVATION GAIN:  625 ft     \nES
T DIFFICULTY RANGE: Moderate (loose and embedded sand/pebbles/rocks o
n trail\, short uphills and downhills plus one longer descent). The
slot canyon is short but it requires some fairly simple bouldering - it
is Moderately Challenging and it is optional (there is a short Moderate
 walk-around).\n<img src="https://asuuc.net/df_media/W1siZiIsIjIwMjYvMTAvMj

be shared with other hikers who have expressed an interest in ride-sharin

a group of friends out for a walk who want to experience the beautiful Col

s that are open to the public.\n\nEach hiker must determine whether he/she
has the fitness and hiking experience needed for a given hike. If you are
new to mountain hiking or higher altitudes\, we recommend you start with
easier hikes and work your way up. If you need more information about a hi
ke after reading this Bulletin Board post (and after consulting the "for m
ore hike info" reference if there is one)\, you may contact the hike poste
 r. \n\n\nTRAIL CONDITION: Generally Good - packed dirt\, embedded or loos
e small and medium size rocks\, loose sand/pebbles on some short uphills a
nd downhills (and one longer descent on "the Shiv"). If there is rain near
the hike date there may be muddy spots - we walk through mud if necessary
  to\navoid creating walk-around social trails.\n\nWEATHER: Check weather f
orecast for the hike area &amp\; dress accordingly\, including a hat &amp\
; other sun protection\, plus rain gear if rain is forecast. Clothing laye
rs for expected temperature range &amp\; wind usually work best.\nHIKER PR
EP/EQUIPMENT: Bring plenty of water - on a hot sunny day 2+ liters probabl
y would be appropriate for most hikes over a few miles. Hiking boots/shoes
&amp\; hiking poles probably would be considered necessary for any hike t
hat is Moderate or Challenging\, as well as for Easy hikes unless they are
on relatively level paved trails or clean packed dirt.\n\nRESTROOMS: None
at Trailhead. In Cañon City: Try Alta/Exxon Convenience Center\, 420 Roy
