Jan-Feb 2025. Dismantling Racism Training & Education series. Four meetings of 90 minutes include discussion on the topics below. Readings, assigned before each meeting, include chapters by Ijeoma Oluo and Ibram Kendi along with selected media and articles. Participants should commit to attending all four sessions to build trust and enable deeper discussion. Sessions will take place every other Sunday, 12-1:30pm.
- One group will meet on these dates: Feb 9, 23, March 9, 23
- Another group will meet on these dates: Feb 16, March 2, 16, 30
Session topics will include:
- Examining Privilege and Finding Blind Spots
- Speaking Up to Fight Everyday Racism (“microaggressions”)
- Fighting Racial Inequities and Racist Policies
- Racism in the UU and Taking Action
