HIKE DESCRIPTION:
This flat easy city hike is paved, and 5 feet wide - no mud! We will set a leisurely pace. It is a wonderful exploration of the near east side of Colorado Springs. It is a wide trail, so socializing with other hikers and sharing the trail with bicycles should be no problem. Most of the hike weaves through the neighborhoods and park areas that provide an interesting view of an early Colorado Springs neighborhood. We will walk about 3-3.5 miles, with an opportunity to shorten the hike with a turnaround at 1 mile. Along the trail, there are several park areas with benches for rest. Halfway, we will have an option for a coffee or lunch/snack before returning to our cars.

TRAIL CONDITION: Good, paved, wide.

WEATHER: Check an up-to-date weather forecast for the hike area before the hike and dress appropriately.

HIKER PREPARATION/EQUIPMENT: Bring adequate water. Bring a hat and other sun protection as well as rain gear if rain is forecast. Clothing layers for expected temperature range and wind usually work best.

RESTROOMS: None on the trail. Restrooms available at a coffee shop stop.

DOGS: Yes, on leash. Owners must clean up after them.

Dogs at a coffee stop require an outdoor patio to be included.
