HIKE START TIME: 8:00 AM
(please be at Trailhead by 7:45).
Rolling open meadows, some forested areas. Gradual downhill, gradual uphill back to Trailhead. Views are gorgeous incl "back" of Pikes Peak. Wildflowers likely. May be small creek crossings if recent rain.
Poles optional (may be useful at crossings and brief ascents). Divide usually is 10° to 15° cooler than COS.
Hike length 5.5 mi, elev gain 330 ft, highest altitude 9,200 ft (at Trailhead)
hike difficulty level: Moderate (bcs of length, otherwise Easy).

Dogs are OK (bring a leash).
No restroom at Trailhead (only trees) - stop in Divide or Woodland Park.

Please note: All Souls hiking coordinators are no longer arranging carpooling for hikes. Hikers are free to arrange ride-sharing among themselves. Also, we are preparing a separate new summary of how we think we should operate as a bunch of All Souls hikers, which will include some significant new approaches. We haven't decided yet how we will try to give everyone a chance to ask questions and give your comments and generally see if you can support a new approach we'll be recommending, with or without revisions. If appropriate, we can have an in-person meeting and maybe provide for Zoom participation if that would work.
