Hi! My name is Robin Laborde. I became a member of All Souls in 2023. I am looking into the possibility of starting a Caregivers Support Group for members and friends at All Souls.

Caregiving can mean many things to different people, but nobody ever said it was easy! Since my father was diagnosed with dementia in 2023, I have gradually assumed the role of his primary caregiver, with growing levels of responsibility as his condition progresses.

Caregiving can feel very isolating. It seems like nobody understands what you’re going through unless they are doing it too. There is great value, I think, in sharing stories of our challenges and victories in caregiving. It touches so many aspects of life and it really helps to remember you’re not alone in this. I have also found that it can be helpful simply to share the practical knowledge you’ve gained in this journey.
