I am currently Minister Emerita of All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church and I have also practiced Mindfulness with Thich Nhat Hanh for 30 years. My husband Barry and I were ordained into the Order of Interbeing in 2013 and are committed practitioners of Engaged Buddhism. I have been engaged in anti-racism trainings with the Unitarian Universalist Association since the 1970s, became a trained facilitator for Anti-Racism and Jubilee World workshops, and was a member of the Hymnbook Commission that published the Singing the Living Tradition Hymnbook in 1993 and is still in use. I was certified as a Spiritual Director in 1992 and still enjoy supporting people in their spiritual growth, as well as officiating at weddings and life celebrations.
I’ve attended International Affairs week at Star Island off the coast of Maine, since 1972 with my children David, Deb and Lisa Nelson, and my husband Barry after we met in 1981.
My husband and I facilitate workshops in compassionate communication, and I trained with Marshall Rosenberg in the early 2010s. I was a member of the Pikes Peak Region Human Relations Commission until it was, sadly, discontinued a few years ago. I am passionate about supporting regenerative agriculture and localizing our food system with wholesome, humane and sustainable practices, as well as protecting our precious earth, and the local environment especially, as best I can. I still enjoy hiking the trails and open spaces of Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak region and visits with 6 grown children, their spouses and 9 grandchildren.
