We throw away vast amounts of stuff. Many people have forgotten that they can repair things themselves. Even seemingly complex products of our modern society can often get a new lease on life after a very simple repair. Repair Café is a worldwide movement that strives to preserve repair skills in society, to help you keep repairable goods out of landfills, and to promote the manufacture of repairable products.
At Repair Café you will find experienced volunteers (“Trainers”) with repair skills in many fields, who will provide the guidance and resources you need to fix your stuff. Visitors bring their broken items (clothes, furniture, electrical appliances, bicycles, crockery, appliances, toys, etc.) from home. Guided by the Trainers you will start making repairs through an ongoing learning process. If together we cannot fix your stuff, as sometimes happens, at least we tried.
Colorado Springs Repair Café is coming to All Souls UU Church on July 12, 2025 to show you that learning to repair things is fun and rewarding. Join us!
