We are happy to inform the All Souls Congregation that we have successfully completed the requirements to call ourselves a Good Trouble Congregation! Good Trouble Congregations organize their communities and engage in activities to help build a multi-racial democracy by encouraging people to vote.

We exceeded expectations of becoming a Good Trouble Congregation with the following results:

  • 3,540 get out the vote letters (required 2,960)
  • 2,976 get out the vote calls to voters (required 2,900 - that was a squeaker!)
  • Four congregants worked as Election Judges (required two)
  • 46 percent congregant participation (required 20 percent - we rocked this!)

In addition, we held a Ballot Issues Forum which was well attended, hosted two phone banks, and knocked on doors in Denver.

This was no small feat, and we should be proud! No doubt, the election results weigh heavily upon us all and our social justice work is more important than ever. If you find solace in action as I do, know that our Social Justice Team at All Souls has laid a foundation for the work that lies ahead. I encourage you to stay tuned to how you can get involved in the issues that are most important to you.

At this time, we must maintain our commitment to each other and our values. I hope that you can join us in celebration of this commitment after service on Sunday when we will serve cake. After all, cake makes everything better!
